The City of Harrisburg welcomes the annual Gay Pride parade, Dr. Brenda Alton, Acting Director of Parks, Recreation and Enrichment said today. “We have a permit prepared which can be picked up anytime,” Dr. Alton said today.
“When the Mayor and I met with a representative from the LGBT coalition last March, we assured them that the City would support a family friendly Gay Pride parade and celebration and that a permit would be issued.” She added. “Contrary to some reports, the group has never been denied a permit, nor has that permit been singled out in any way from any other permit. We hope this multi-cultural event can be brought to the City as it has in the past.”
Dr. Alton has taken charge of the permitting process for the Department this week and all permits are being expedited at this time
