Regrettably a bomb threat caused the evacuation of Harrisburg High School in the City yesterday. Authorities responded, per procedure, and Mayor Thompson praised police response, calling the perpetrator's actions, "a despicable act by selfish individuals who do not respect the public safety systems or the rights of students to fulfill their daily educational responsibilities.” Police Chief Ritter received the following complement from Jeff Bader, Business Manager for the Harrisburg School District: "Chief Ritter, I wanted to extend the thanks of the Harrisburg School District to you and your department for their assistance with the bomb threat at John Harris today. The bomb squad was very responsive to the emergency call and when we needed Police assistance to control the traffic at Marshall School, they responded immediately and helped keep the situation under control. Thank you."
