Mayor Linda D. Thompson gave the keynote address at the Harrisburg Young Professional’s (HYP) 2011 Annual Meeting held at Harrisburg University. Ryan Riley, HYP’s new president presented the organization’s 2010 milestones and invited Mayor Thompson to answer the question, “How can the HYP invest in Harrisburg?”
Mayor Thompson stated, “There are three major concerns that a public servant for the City of Harrisburg must address: 1. Safety of our communities by enforcing the laws and keeping the peace through police protection. 2. Preservation of life and property through firefighters. 3. Service of utilities: sanitation and recycling collection, water, and sewer through sanitation employees.”
