PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY fights homeless

Virginia American Water has requested a general rate increase for the Prince William, Alexandria and Hopewell Districts. The company filed for the increase with the State Corporation Commission (SCC) and is required to give the public notice and an opportunity to comment. The proposed rate increases would take effect for service rendered on and after Aug. 13, 2010, and would total $1,810,581 in increased revenue for the company from Prince William County residents. Virginia American Water customers in Prince William County are located in the Coles and Neabsco magisterial districts. A hearing is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 24, 2011, at 10 a.m. in the SCC’s Courtroom in the Tyler Building, 1300 East Main Street, Richmond, Virginia. Any interested person may attend and speak (it is recommended you arrive at 9:45 a.m.). Additionally, written comments may be submitted to Joel Peck, Clerk, State Corporation Commission, c/o Document Control Center, PO Box 2118, Richmond, VA, 23218. Written comments should refer to specific case number, PUE-2010-0001 and are due by March 10, 2011.
