County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III Announces First Accountability, Compliance and Integrity (ACI) Advisory Board Meeting. This one of Baker's plan to correct some of the problems in PG County or at least take the black eye of corruption away
The ACI Advisory Board is charged with reviewing current county oversight, researching best practices, and providing specific recommendations to County Executive Baker and the County Council. Former Baltimore Mayor Kurt L. Schmoke will serve as chair, and retired Prince George’s County Circuit Court Judge William D. Missouri will serve as vice chair of the Prince George’s County Government ACI Board.
Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III also announced the names of the ACI Advisory Board members:
Patricia G. Adams was appointed a member of the Maryland Workers' Compensation Commission in 2007 by Governor Martin O'Malley. Ms. Adams previously served as a commissioner from 1999 to 2004. Before her work at the Commission, Ms. Adams was the managing partner of the law offices of Serio, Tansey, and Adams in Riverdale, Maryland. During Ms. Adams tenure, she managed a large workers' compensation practice primarily representing injured public safety employees. In April 2003, the Daniel O'Connell Law Society selected Ms. Adams as Lawyer of the Year for Distinguished Service in the Public Sector.
Linda Botts, business owner, established ASHLIN, Inc.- Management Company in 1996. Ms. Botts has more than 20 years of experience in municipal and state government with emphasis on organizational design, housing and community development, marketing, program administration and fiscal management. Within Prince Georges County, Ms. Botts has played key roles in assisting the public and private sectors to develop innovative approaches to bring greater efficiency and productivity to human services programs such as child support enforcement, welfare reform, and foster care.
Peter Shapiro is the founder and director of the Chesapeake Center for Public Leadership in Washington, DC and the former director of the James MacGregor Burns Academy of Leadership’s Rawlings Center for Public Leadership at the University of Maryland. Mr. Shapiro is a coach/consultant on leadership programs at IMD (Lausanne, Switzerland) and INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France) business schools. Mr. Shapiro served six years in public office as an elected member of the Prince George's County (Maryland) Council, including two years as Council chair. During his tenure on the Council, he served on the board of directors of the Metropolitan Washington Council of Governments (COG), chaired the COG Transportation Planning Board and the Chesapeake Bay Policy Committee and served as vice-chair of the Metropolitan Washington Air Quality Committee.
“I am confident that the collective talents of this team of highly regarded professionals will compile a comprehensive report of recommendations,” said Prince George’s County Executive Rushern L. Baker, III. “I am honored that they have agreed to serve on the ACI Advisory Board and I look forward to working with them and being kept apprised of their findings and progress.”
