Baltimore City will play host to the conference of the mayors annual event in 2011. The current Baltimore City mayor,who is Stephanie Rawlings-Blake , is playing a mayor role in this event before it happens.
“I am excited that Baltimore is hosting the largest meeting of national political leaders Maryland has ever seen,” said Mayor Rawlings-Blake. “It is my goal that Baltimore will be the best host city the U.S. Conference of Mayors has ever had!”
The Mayor’s presentation included a video about Baltimore which features a new rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner” sung by Baltimore-native Mario (with Marvin Gaye). Baltimore-based greiBO media was engaged to produce the video and arrange the song. The new rendition was inspired by Marvin Gaye’s historic performance at the 1983 NBA All-Star Game.
